Wave Money Receives the First Mobile Financial Services Regulation Registration Certificate in Myanmar

Yangon, Myanmar , 3rd October 2016 – Wave Money, a joint venture mobile money-transfer service of First Myanmar Investment (FMI), Yoma Bank, and Telenor Group, receives the first Mobile Financial Services Regulation registration certificate in Myanmar on October 3rd.
We are also delighted to announce that Wave Money is the first company to be registered under the new Mobile Financial Services Regulation.
People otherwise excluded from the formal financial sector can now easily and quickly complete Wave Shop transfer transitions across over 4,000 wave agents, or directly through mobile phone with their own Wave Account.
